Dreams

What’s your dream job?

I have a few answers to this, and they’ve all been in my head since I was a kid. A basketball player, an artist, a scientist, a writer, and so on.

However, most of my dream jobs, that I’m just going to call my dreams for the rest of this post, have faded away as time has gone on.

But there is one dream that is still just as prominent as it was when I was a kid.

I have always loved music.

I love the feelings that music gives me. I love when I find certain sounds and rhythms that scratch different itches in my head. I love the storytelling that lyrics do, and the storytelling that the music itself can do.

It’s amazing.

Sadly though, I have never really pursued music as a passion. I have always enjoyed music, as I almost always listen to music in my daily life.

But I just wish I could do it.

I wish I could make music.

Writing music feels incredibly difficult to do, and, ironically, part of me feels like that process may take away from my love for music.

It’s sort of like when you turn a hobby into a job. I’m not trying to be a musician right out of the gate, but I’ve also not taken many steps in making music.

I want to pursue it, I really do. I really want to pursue a lot of my dreams, like writing, storytelling, and art, but I’m just not sure how to get that passion out of my internal self and out into the world.
